Report: US will play Denmark in November
It is being reported that the USMNT will take on Denmark in Aarhus on November 18 in a friendly. Both sides secured qualification on Saturday with wins. The Danes defeated Sweden at home by a score of 1-0 to clinch the top spot in their group that also contains the likes of Portugal and Hungary. This will be the first time that the two sides square off in Denmark.
With qualification secured, the National Team will be looking to line up friendlies for the spring. There were some reports that the US would be traveling to Eindhoven in March to play the Netherlands, who also have booked their ticket to South Africa. With the World Cup taking place in Africa, some fans have expressed a desire for a friendly against an African team on African soil. US Soccer is likely looking into such a fixture, while also examining all the possibilities to make the buildup to South Africa as productive as possible.
As for the remainder of 2009, there is only one other FIFA matchday on the calendar aside from the aforementioned November 18, and that is November 14. After a long summer of international duty and a tense finish to the qualification process, Bob Bradley might be content with just one friendly to close out the year. Then again, if another quality European side offers to play the US while they're over on the Old Continent, Bradley and company might decide to add another match to what has already been a heavy 2009 calendar.
