Yanks in Europe: Light Sunday and Midweek Preview
There weren't too many Yanks in Europe in action today, but here's how those few fared, plus a look ahead to some other midweek action:
Marcus Hahnemann once again earned a clean sheet for Wolves in their 0-0 draw with Stoke City. The point pushes Mick McCarthy's side six points clear of the drop zone, looking like good bets to stay up after a rough start to the season. Hahnemann didn't have to do much, only making one save and benefiting from some near misses and poor finishing from the Potters:
Elsewhere, Freddy Adu started and played 90 minutes for Aris in their 2-1 loss to Asteras Tripoli. He had some good crosses and attacking moments, showing confidence on the ball on several occasions and attempting an audacious volley from an acute angle in the second half. He did, however, also have some poor crosses and turnovers throughout. All in all, though, it was a solid game for Adu, whose teammates turned in a fairly lackluster, listless effort in a match that meant a lot more to Tripoli.
Eddie Johnson, meanwhile, came on in the 74th minute and had a couple of nice moments up top with his team searching for the equalizer. He had a few nice passes to spring the attack and held the ball up well at times. In just 16 minutes, however, he was unable to find the back of the net.
Last, Clarence Goodson started and played 90 minutes in IK Start's 4-3 road victory over Brann, vaulting his side to fourth place in the Tippeligaen standings.

Injured/Did Not Play
Clint Dempsey was out once again due to the thigh injury he suffered at the end of Fulham's 2-1 victory over Wigan last weekend. I'm still not entirely sure when Deuce will be back, but from what Roy Hodgson has said it seems like they're just going to wait and see how he progresses day to day.
