Weekend International Round-Up
More friendly highlights and international updates:
Slovakia 1, Cameroon 1: Cameroon managed a draw, once again playing without Samuel Eto'o in the lineup. Eto'o has threatened to quit Cameroon's World Cup team in response to some criticism from national team legend Roger Milla.
New Zealand 1, Serbia 0: Shane Smeltz scored the lone goal of the match, giving the Kiwis an impressive result over a good Serbia side.
Germany 3, Hungary 0: Lukas Podolski scored a 5th minute penalty, and the Germans never looked back, bagging a pair of second half goals in the span of four minutes to cap off a comfortable win.
Spain 3, Saudi Arabia 2: Spain needed a 90th minute header from Fernando Llorente to squeak past a scrappy Saudi team.
England 2, Japan 1: Japan took a first half lead and kept England from putting the ball in the back of their net throughout the match. Unfortunately, they also scored two own goals, giving the Three Lions a win (albeit an ugly one).
Mexico 5, Gambia 1: El Tri took advantage of some sloppy conditions early on en route to an easy win over the Gambia.
Nigeria 1, Colombia 1: Lukman Haruna leveled the score with a second half strike from distance, earning the Super Eagles a draw.
France 1, Tunisia 1: Les Bleus could only find the back of the net once despite out-shooting their opponents 21-8.
Ivory Coast 2, Paraguay 2: The two teams combined for four second half goals, with the Elephants squandering a two goal advantage in the final 15 minutes. Didier Drogba and company sported the Africa Unity kits for the occasion.
Belarus 1, South Korea 0: South Korea were the only World Cup-bound team that lost over the weekend after giving up a second half goal and failing to find the back of the net against Belarus.
Chile 3, Israel 0; Chile 1, North Ireland 0: In what is surely an international oddity, Chile played two friendlies on the same day, winning both without conceding a single goal.
South Africa 5, Guatemala 0: Bafana Bafana continued their unbeaten run with an easy win over a weak Guatemala side.

Some additional news and notes:
New Jersey-born Giuseppe Rossi was cut from Italy's World Cup roster. The roster of the defending champs can be seen here.
England's World Cup roster was also announced today, with Theo Walcott left on the outside looking in. That's one less speedy winger for Bob Bradley and company to worry about.
Mexico's Giovani Dos Santos is reportedly considering quitting Mexico's World Cup team after his brother Jonathan was not selected to Javier Aguirre's 23-man squad, according to their father.
