USMNT Roster for France, Slovenia Friendlies Released
The roster for the upcoming friendlies was announced today. Check it out:
Goalkeepers: Tim Howard, Bill Hamid
Defenders: Tim Chandler, Steve Cherundolo, Clarence Goodson, Michael Orozco Fiscal, Alfredo Morales, Carlos Bocanegra, Oguchi Onyewu
Midfielders: Fabian Johnson, Jermaine Jones, Robbie Rogers, Kyle Beckerman, Maurice Edu, Clint Dempsey, Michael Bradley, Brek Shea, Danny Williams
Forwards: Landon Donovan, DaMarcus Beasley, Jozy Altidore, Edson Buddle
As always, some really interesting selections, for better or for worse. I will post full thoughts on all of this tonight or tomorrow. I need a little bit of time to digest it all first.

Ugh.
Rogers? Really? Orozco? Haven't they embarrassed us enough?
And no Gomez, Kljestan, Gonzalez, John, Diskerud, Agudelo.
I want Bob Bradley back.
Totally agree. Leaving Gomez off is borderline inexcusable, and I thought it was painfully obvious to everyone that Orozco Fiscal and Rogers were not international quality. (Didn't we figure those experiments were done when they didn't get called up last time?)
Seeing Morales is a relief, though, since he was left off the Olympic training camp roster: looks like we'll steal him from Peru after all. The absence of Diskerud I can take, too, considering his name was on that U23 list. Leaving out John and Gonzalez, on the other hand--amidst the possibility, however realistic, of possible switches--continues to be a huge head-scratcher.
